About

A reality check, not a verdict

Delusion Calculators exists because dating standards are usually discussed in anecdotes — a friend’s bad date, a viral clip, a strong opinion about what “everyone” wants — and rarely discussed with any actual numbers attached. We built a calculator that attaches the numbers: given the age, height, income, and other criteria you set, what share of the U.S. population actually meets all of them at once?

What the calculator does

It combines your filters against reference U.S. demographic data, stratified by age so that income, marital status, and weight are treated as correlated with age rather than as flat, independent odds. The result is a percentage of the population and a rough headcount — not a claim about any specific person, and not a claim that meeting the percentage guarantees a good relationship.

What it deliberately doesn’t do

It doesn’t measure personality, values, communication style, or chemistry — the things relationship research consistently finds matter more than any demographic filter. The calculator is built to answer one narrow question honestly (how common is this combination of traits?), not to answer the much bigger question of whether a given set of standards will make you happy. For the statistical detail behind how the numbers are actually computed, see our methodology page.

Privacy, by construction

Every calculation runs in your browser. The standards you enter and the result you get are never transmitted to or stored on our servers — see the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
